Information Sheets

The link on this page takes you to a Microsoft Publisher read-only file.  It is a set of information sheets as produced by the Type 2 Owners Club some years ago.  While it may have been around for a while, it contains some really good information on general maintenance checks and routine jobs, and progresses to some more adventurous restoration projects (in the second half).

Given the length of time that has passed since writing, please be aware that some part numbers may have changed.  Your local Volkswagen dealer or service centre should be able to help you with this.  Also, some of the authors may no longer hold the positions they once had with the club.  Please refer to the Committee list in the "About the Club" pages for current post-holders.

It would also be a good idea to contact the current post-holders before attempting to call any telephone numbers we have not  managed to remove; it would be very embarrassing to find out that the person you thought you were calling has moved, or worse "passed to the other side"...

If the format of this document proves problematic, please email the website manager and we will try to send it or post it here in another file type.

Points to note before asking for a different format!

1.  If you are only seeing the first page and you are unfamiliar with Publisher, there are a series of tabs with numbers on that should appear under the page.  These will open the other pages if you click on them.  There are quite a few - as you move across the tabs, more page tabs will appear.

2.  Your computer may try to say that it does not recognise the file format, even if you have Publisher installed and in a sufficiently up-to-date version.  This is a weird habit of Microsoft programmes.  Try double-clicking things until they behave - it works for me!

Here is the first link: Information Sheet Booklet

And if it works better in pdf format for you try this: Info Sheets PDF.

It may be possible to make this file more DDA compliant - if you need it, please contact the website manager as before.
