Have you found Volksmagic in Oldbury? Run by Lee Southerton, lovely chap brilliant standard of work and does all forms of maintenance as well as restoration work, he's looked after my bug and crew cab for about five years and he's even fixed up another bug for my daughter, all good work!

I also use Brookside and they've recently done some work that has left the van running better than it ever has in the past. The work required that the engine be removed and whilst doing it, Simon Martin and Chris also tackled a number of additional items they saw needed doing such as throttle cable replacement and replacement of damaged fuel lines. The guys took real care in putting it all back together which has improved the gear shift operation and driving down to Exeter for Beautiful Days last weekend was even more enjoyable than usual. I could be more pleased with what they've done and would recommend them to anyone in the Midlands looking for a mechanic. Clive
