Hi Folks

I am from Inverness, in the north of scotland  and I am planning on spending my summer hols touring Devon and Cornwall in my T25. I am looking for help on the best places to camp or routs to take and places to see. If anyone would like to help I would be greatful. I have a preferance for beach camp sites if possible.

Thanks

Hello Donnie,

if you're travelling through North Cornwall, along A39, I can recommend Upper Lynstone Caravan & Camping Park at Lynstone, Bude. Not on the beach, but a nice quiet and friendly park only a short walk from the town and Summerleaze and Crooklets beaches and a short drive from Widemouth Bay.

I hope this is of some help.

Hi donnie,

If you're planning on staying around Padstow (if just for Rick Stein's fish and chips) then I can highly recommend Padstow Touring Park. It's about a mile outside town with a nice 15 minute walk through fields into the center.

Nice people, lots of VWs, Wifi and croissants and bread freshly delivered every morning.

We camped there for 3 days and came back later in the holiday for another 3 because it was so nice.

Jon

Hi We have just come back from Devon and spent a night at the Fishing and Watersports centre off the A30  the other side of Oakhampton (approx. 15 -20 mile) sign posted Roadford reservoir.  Go over the dam wall and take first right.  It was £5 pppnight and electric £2.50.  There were free showers, hairdryers, good toilet facilities, elsan point.  The plots are a very good size.  If you are into water sports, fishing or walking I can definitely recommend it.  The people are very friendly. Dogs allowed on lead. Although not on coast yo do have the watersports or can use it as a one night stop over as we did.

Hi Donnie,

This might be too late for your trip - but if not you must check out Henrys Campsite on the Lizard on the south coast - http://www.henryscampsite.co.uk/ we stayed there a few weeks ago and it is simply magic - the southerly most compsite in the country and possibly the friendliest.  They also love dubs so you will get an even warmer welcome and meet some fellow dubbers too!  It does get busy so call ahead to book in!  Enjoy!

Paul
