Hello everyone.

Just to let you know that if you would like to camp on the Thursday night leading up to the AGM itself, then please register your interest with me via e-mail. The reason for doing it this way is because we have to book the whole area at a lump sum cost! This will only become viable if we have enough interest.

Please register your interest, with the link to me on the events directory, by March 31st.

Hi everyone

Just a quick update...

We so far have just 5 interested parties who have contacted me with regards camping on the Thursday. This, however, is still not enough to warrant the club booking the area for the one night.

If you do want to camp for this extra night then please get in touch via e-mail to me at vwt2oc.secretary@btinternet.com

Many thanks

Keith

Dear members

If you are unable to attend the agm but would still like to have your vote, here is a postal voting form for you to complete and send to the club secretary.

We are asking for your name and membership details on the form but these will be detached before the rest of the form is read or counted.  These details are required to ensure only one vote is counted per member.

I hope to see you at the agm this coming weekend. There is camping for Friday and Saturday night at the Haynes Motor Museum, Sparkford.

This as a great venue for our AGM and we woill be using the Lancelot room for the meeting and for entertainment on Saturday.

The museum has over 200 intersting vehicles on display and the famour red room is spectacular. I am sure that you will get chance to visit the museum during the weekend.

You will need to bring your membesship card with you in order to fully participate in the meeting.

We have some interesting ideas to discuss as part of the agenda and I would like to get yoour feedback on the ideas we have for takig our club forwards.

There will be plenty of time to socilaise and renew or make new friends during the weekend.

Lets keep our fingers crossed for some good weather.

Have a safe journey.

well i have just been to my first AGM camp and really enjoyed it~i was glad the weather was so good and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves!

despite no showers-come on people two days without a shower wont kill you and toilets being a couple of minutes walk-no it wasnt the five minute walk i heard someone say it was and thats what porta potties were invented for!!! - it was great.

it was a lovely field in which to bird watch~buzzards and kestrals, what a treat! the forest walk was lovely and ice cream from the cafe very nice!

so a big thank you for those involved~and for arranging a discount into the museum (these days any discount cant be bad for the pocket!) and keep up the good work...roll on my next camp

Hell Solsticedreamer

I am glad that you enjoyed the agm weekend.  I agree the weathjer was fantastic and I also enjoyed the small maze of tracks, dedicated by the local hospice, through the woods. This was a great surprise to me because the last time I visited Hatnes was for Van West a couple of years ago. The field was pretty full and I didnt realise that there was an authorised way into the woods and the firlds beyond.

Many thanks for the contribution to the event and I look forwards to seeing you at one of the next events.

I promised to post the presentation I gave at the agm on the web site. Here it is and I would like to invite comments from as many members as possible.  For those of you that didn't attend the agm, the meeting agreed that the committee should proceed in developing the ideas with caution.

I want to make sure that the discussion is aired through the magazine as well as the web site and we gave a committment to the members attending the agm that all members would get access to the proposals and be able to contribute to the debate on how we might proceed.

The presentation can be found by clicking on the link:

If you would like to discuss the ideas floated in the presentation or if you can offer any specific skills in helping us to arrive at a conclusion either Keith B or I would like to hear from you.

Many Thanks

Paul

Please feel free to join in with these forums.  We put them on here for a reason - to keep members in touch around the country and the world, even when there are no camps planned.  Conversation does not have to revolve around the Club, vans, VW or anything else necessarily linked to the rest of the site.

However, we need to be sure that everyone knows the score.

Please keep entries friendly.  We will remove or edit out unsavoury content, but we prefer that you avoid posting it in the first place.  Remember that people of all kinds read these pages, and the Club is supposed to be a fun place to be.  Anyone who persists in leaving foul messages will be struck off the users list, Club member or not.

We hope you get involved with chatting here and find support with your repairs/restorations, friendship and entertainment.  Enjoy!
