It's always frustrating when something doesn't work the way it should so to help us fix the problem and reduce your frustration can you please include the following information with your report?

  • The page you were viewing when the bug occurred
  • What web browser were you using (Internet Explorer 6, Firefox 2, etc)
  • If its a display issue a screen shot is always useful.  See below for instructions on how to take a screen shot.
  • How frequently does it happen?  (Everytime, Fails the first time I visited a page - but worked afterwards, etc)
  • What steps to take to reproduce the problem?

You can easily take a screen shot in Windows using a built in feature of Windows.

  1. Prepare the screen you want to take a picture of.

  2. Hold down the [Alt] key, to the left of the [Space] bar.
  3. Hit the 'Print Screen' of [PrtScn] key (usually in the top right of your keyboard)
  4. Windows has now copied a picture of your screen to the clipboard.
  5. Open up an image editor (MS Paint will work [Start]->[All Programs]->[Accessories]->Paint) but any basic image editor will work.

  6. Paste the clipboard contents into the image editor (usually by holding down [Ctrl] usually to the left of the [Alt] (or Windows Key) and hit [v].  Otherwise, try going to 'Edit -> Paste' in the image editors toolbar).
  7. Save the image as a jpg.

When you want to upload a file or image and make it available to other users:

  • Type some descriptive text such as 'screenshot' and highlight it by clicking to the left of the word you want to turn into a link and dragging the mouse cursor to the right over the word.  The background of the word should turn an alternate colour (grey/blue).
  • Click the 'Insert/Edit Link' icon on the message editor tool bar (it looks like a chain link, it's two icons to the left of the Smiley icon ).
  • In the popup dialog box click the 'Browse Server' button.
  • In the File Browser dialog, click the 'Browse' button in the right hand bottom pane.
  • In the window that opens, select the image you want to upload and click Ok
  • Back at the File Browser window click 'Upload'
  • Wait for the file to be uploaded to the server and then click the on the filename of the uploaded file when it appears in the top most right hand panel.
  • Click 'Ok' in the Add Link window.
  • Your highlighted word should now link to the newly uploaded file.
  • Save your message.

However, we need to be sure that everyone knows the score.

Please keep entries friendly.  We will remove or edit out unsavoury content, but we prefer that you avoid posting it in the first place.  Remember that people of all kinds read these pages, and the Club is supposed to be a fun place to be.  Anyone who persists in leaving foul messages will be struck off the users list, Club member or not.

We hope you get involved with chatting here and find support with your repairs/restorations, friendship and entertainment.  Enjoy!
